Autism Center of Excellence
Supported by an $8.3 million grant from the NIH, Southeastern health partners are taking on autism diagnosis in early infancy.
The Autism Center of Excellence (ACE)—including Emory's pediatrics department, the Marcus Autism Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Yerkes National Primate Research Center—is one of only three such centers nationwide. It brings together more than 25 researchers and physicians in eight laboratories in Atlanta, along with collaborators at Florida State.
Led by Emory pediatrician and Marcus Center Director Ami Klin, the ACE will study risk and resilience for autism in infants and toddlers through fundamental research and new screening programs in early infancy.
